Tamara’s world

I was born in a small town in East part of Ukrainian (part of USSR back then), Pervomaysk, Lugansk region. I grew up, went to High School and to the School of gymnastics in the same town. I was pretty consistent with my hobbies, so I never quit gymnastics and did it for 10 years until I graduated from the high school, left my small town and moved to another Ukrainian city calls Donetsk (big industrial, coal mines center of Ukraine). Where I got excepted to the University of Physical Culture and Sports and I was introduced to the triathlon a year after. In that time, 1995, the first generation of Ukrainian triathletes just started to grow: Vladimir Polikarpenko, Andrey Yastrebov, Viktor Zyemtsev

During my students years I already started to race internationally, mostly duathlons, Europian Duathlon Cup series and I was already making a few rubbles. The decision to become a full time triathlete came to me by itself. I loved traveling and meeting new people, I loved exercising and racing and I was competitive athlete since 7 years old, since I attended my first competition as a gymnast. And as long as I had money to travel and race I was happy. The journey of a Pro Triathlete Tamara Kozulina from Ukraine began in 1999
